My idea on the future role of designers is to provide users all over the world with the same or more experience, convenience and comfort products can offer right now with lesser resources and materials. I see that these factors play a big role in how and if people will use products, it spans the gab between these two entities.

For me an user experience (UX) goes further than the usability of a product. In the ideal situation the product makes such an impact it affects the episodic and remembered UX. Even though UX is subjective, dynamic and situated there are some elements that can have a positive effect on the holistic UX. In my experience the implementation of triggering multiple senses, a certain grandeur, complexity and a good overall visual have a positive effect on the UX. That is what I also like to implement in my work if possible.

One method that inspires my work and myself is the use of minimalism in design. Removing unnecessary components to grab attention towards the topic and creating seemingly elegant visuals. It seeks to understand the core of things, emphasizing a simple way of dealing with complexity. Minimalism can not only be found in design, also in art, food, music, fashion and architecture. Modern art, workwear or Bauhaus are examples that inspire me. Throughout all mediums a user-centric approach is used as minimalism is an attempt to reach a certain set goal. From rigorous limitations of elements, space or interaction, new possibilities can emerge. With the possible use of complex systems, technology, material & production knowledge and inspiration from not only design, that goal can be realized in a minimalist manner spanning that bridge between user and product.
